How To Play Doom 3 Multiplayer

For this page we will be talking about the multiplayer achievements. Doom 3: BFG Edition only has a total of 6 achievements that need to be done online giving you a total of 65G Gamerscore.

Compared to the single player part of the game, the multiplayer achievements are a cakewalk. You will either need a partner or a dummy account to help you get 5 of the online achievements, with the 6th achievement requiring 3 people including yourself. Even if you had a total of 4 people (which is the maximum in multiplayer) wanting all of the online achievements, it is possible to get all 6 of them within 15 - 30 minutes maximum.

And the best part about these achievements is that they can all be done in Ranked Matches, Player Matches, Private Matches, Play With Friends and in System Link if you have multiple Xbox's.

The only drawback you will be having in this game with the multiplayer achievements is that you will have to play on 2 different maps since some of the features that are in the multiplayer game mode do not all appear on one single map.

Kill an enemy player by jumping into a teleporter after them in DOOM 3 Multiplayer

Feel free to do these achievements in any order you wish, however I will go through the order I believe which will be the easiest. On this map in the teleporter room (name reference), there will be a gigantic machine with a blue beam in front of it. This is the teleporter and you will need a partner to be with you at the same time. Your partner will be the bait. Now you need to simply let your partner go through the teleporter and let them spawn and settle down for a few moments. It's an idea for your partner to tilt the a bit to move forward so that you don't teleport over the body and avoid the kill. When your partners in position go through the teleporter and when you appear you should spawn on top of your partner killing him and earning a Tele-Frag. This was an old tradition used in some of the Quake games. If done correctly you should be given this achievement after you have been given the kill. Rinse and repeat for your partner/s who also need this achievement by forming a queue until everyone gets it.

Berserked!

Use Berserk to kill a player in DOOM 3 Multiplayer

On the same platform in the "Hangar Bay" room you should see a Berserk power-up in front of you. This will increase your speed for a short period of time and will change your weapons to fists. If you hit an opponent with your fists then it's an instant kill. For this achievement you just need to get a single kill whilst you have it activated. An idea instead of running round the map with it equipped is to wait until your partner arrives in the same area as you, then you can simply grab it and then punch them to death, earning you the achievement. If you want a faster way into getting your partner the achievement, simply let them kill you so that you can drop the power-up and let them steal it so that they can get a kill with it.

2 Deaths - 1 Gun

Kill two enemies in the same room with a rocket in DOOM 3 Multiplayer

Finally for this step this is the achievement in the game that needs at least 3 people. The location for a rocket launcher is right nearby the Berserk in the "Hangar Bay". Simply get everyone to meet up and then you should see a downward slope going into a small room nearby. Go in this room and nearby the crates will be the rocket launcher. Whoever wants the achievement needs to grab the gun. They then need to use their pistol and shoot the other 2 players who will be the bait around 4 - 6 times to weaken them. If you can all communicate, it's a good idea to tell the persons who's shooting at you when your health is around 25% or less.

When that's done you both then need to squeeze together and then the lonesome player can shoot the rocket launcher earning a double kill and the achievement. Rinse and repeat for the remaining players by meeting up and killing the player who has the rocket launcher to steal it (or grab a new one) and then weaken them with the pistol and fire the rocket afterwards.

Now that you all have the 3 online achievements on this map, you have either get someone to win the match and then move onto Step 2, or get everyone to quit the match and move onto Step 2 since the achievements unlock as soon as you meet the requirement.

Step 2: Frag Chamber Map

This is the only other map you need to do in order to get the rest of the online achievements in the game. Once again whoever is the host needs to create...

Score Limit: 10 Kills

Time-Limit: 15 Minutes

Catch an enemy player in the Reactor of Frag Chamber in DOOM 3 Multiplayer

Now for the rest of the online achievements you only just need a partner to help you get them, but if you still have a 3rd (or 4th) player the process will go faster. So there is an achievement that requires you to obtain a power-up on the map, but in order for you to grab it, you will need to trap someone in the main chamber. Fortunately not only do you get to trap them, but it will also unlock you an achievement at the same time.

On this map there will be a room that contains a computer console that can be activated by pressing or . Activating it will start-up the Frag Chamber and will lock all of the doors to access the room. The room where the Frag Chamber is is a small circular room with bridges going North, South, East & West. To get this achievement you just need a partner to go in this room before you activate the Frag Chamber. Once they are in the room, activate it and you will get a kill and the achievement.

Ninja Killer

Kill 5 enemy players while using Invisibility in DOOM 3 Multiplayer

Then once your partner dies in the Frag Chamber they will create and drop this power-up which gives whoever grabs it temporary invisibility. The power-up only lasts for a short period of time so use it wisely. To unlock this achievement you will need to get a total of 5 kills while being Invisible across all your games played. This is not a long achievement at all, but it is advised that everyone takes turns going for both achievements at the same time, rather than putting them individually to ease congestion.

Complete a DOOM 3 Multiplayer match without dying

And now you should have one more achievement left, but at this moment in time you cannot get it because you will all have likely died at least once whilst you have gone for the previous achievements, so go ahead and let 1 person get the score limit to win the match.

Now this achievement is more forgiving because you don't actually have to acquire kills, score and complete the game quickly in order to get this achievement. Should all of you decide to sit and stay still throughout the match, as long as no one dies the achievement will unlock for everyone because the idea is that you must "survive" a match without dying. Winning or losing doesn't matter.

If you can take some patience and sit around for a short period of time, that's the best method in getting this achievement. Otherwise another method would be for the winning person to get the kills assigned under the score limit, obtain the achievement and then let their partner get the kills so they can get the achievement in the next round.

And now with no time at all, you should have all 6 multiplayer achievements in Doom 3: BFG Edition giving you 65G Gamerscore! That wasn't long wasn't it?
